Transfer from Arusha to Lemosho Gate and begin the Lemosho Route trek through ancient montane rainforest to Big Tree Camp at 2,780m. This is the most scenic and least-crowded route on Kilimanjaro, offering wide vistas and excellent acclimatization gradients.
Morning
Early departure from Arusha and drive to Lemosho Gate (95km, approx 2.5 hours). Complete park registration, meet your mountain crew, and begin trekking through lush montane rainforest teeming with colobus monkeys and hornbills.
Afternoon
Trek through towering ferns and moss-draped trees. Arrive at Big Tree Camp (2,780m) by mid-afternoon — the camp sits beneath enormous Podocarpus trees.
Evening
Settle into camp. Hot dinner prepared by the mountain crew. Acclimatization briefing from your guide.
