The Ngorongoro Crater floor; two nights at Kogatende in the Mara River crossing zone at exactly the right time of year; Tarangire elephants and the baobabs; Lake Manyara; a direct flight from the northern Serengeti to the coast with no backtracking; six nights in Zanzibar to finish.

Twelve days from Kilimanjaro to Zanzibar, timed for the Mara River crossings. Tarangire and Lake Manyara first, then the Ngorongoro Crater floor, then two nights in the far north of the Serengeti at Kogatende where the herds mass on the river through September and October. From the northern airstrip a direct flight carries you to Zanzibar for six nights on the coast.
