Morning pick-up at your apartment in Arusha and the short drive to Arusha National Park. The morning is spent on the forest tracks and the Ngurdoto Crater rim, where viewpoints look down onto a grassy caldera three kilometres across, often with buffalo and elephant on the floor far below. Vehicles are not permitted to descend into the crater, so it is admired from the rim. Colobus monkeys in the fig trees, giraffe on the open glades, and on a clear day both Mount Meru and Kilimanjaro. Picnic lunch by the water. In the afternoon, two hours by canoe on the Momella lakes, paddling quietly past waterbuck, warthog and flamingoes. Back at your apartment by early evening.

Two separate day safaris run from a guest's own accommodation in Arusha, with no overnight stay on our side.
