Begin the Machame Route trek through lush montane rainforest to Machame Camp at 3,000m.

Morning
Drive from Arusha to Machame Gate (1.5 hours). Register and begin trek through the rainforest zone. Spot blue monkeys, colobus monkeys, and exotic birds in the canopy.
Afternoon
Continue ascending through the forest. Arrive at Machame Camp (3,000m) by late afternoon.
Evening
Hot dinner at camp. Acclimatization briefing from guide. Early rest.
