Morning
Early morning departure from Arusha. Enter Arusha National Park — a compact but extraordinarily diverse park at the foot of Mount Meru, Tanzania's second-highest peak. Game drive through the Momela Lakes and Ngurdoto Crater lookout. Watch giraffe, zebra, warthog, buffalo, and black-and-white colobus monkeys against the dramatic backdrop of Mount Meru. Flamingos gather on the alkaline Momela Lakes.
Afternoon
Drive south to Tarangire National Park (2 hours). Afternoon game drive along the Tarangire River, where hundreds of elephants gather to drink and bathe. Watch elephant herds interact with young calves in the shallow water. The ancient baobab trees tower above the savanna as giraffe, zebra, and lion move through the golden afternoon light.
Evening
Arrive at your luxury lodge in the Tarangire area for sundowners on the terrace. Welcome dinner with views over the savanna as the last baobab silhouettes fade against the darkening sky. Overnight in Tarangire.
