Diverse ecosystems including groundwater forest, acacia woodland, open grassland, swamps, and the alkaline lake. The Great Rift Valley escarpment forms a dramatic backdrop. Groundwater forest with mahogany and wild mango trees at the park entrance. Acacia woodlands dominate the drier areas. Lush vegetation supported by underground water sources from the escarpment.

Accesso
Accessible by road from Arusha (2 hours). Located on the main route to Serengeti and Ngorongoro. Good tarmac road to park entrance.
