Tented camp in the central Serengeti
Thorn Tree Camp is a classic safari tented camp in the Central Serengeti, named after the iconic whistling thorn acacia trees (Vachellia drepanolobium) that dot the Serengeti landscape. The camp offers an authentic bush experience that connects guests intimately with the wild heart of the Serengeti ecosystem. The camp features 15 safari tents with en-suite facilities, each designed to blend with the natural surroundings while providing comfortable accommodation. The tents feature bush showers, flush toilets, quality bedding, and private verandas. The central mess tent and campfire area create a communal atmosphere that harks back to the golden age of East African safaris. Thorn Tree Camp's location in the Central Serengeti provides year-round access to spectacular wildlife viewing. The plains surrounding the camp are home to resident populations of big cats, elephants, buffalos, giraffes, and diverse antelope species, with the Great Migration adding seasonal drama. Full board is included in the rate; special camping fees are additional.
