Porquê visitar Parque Nacional da Baía de Jozani Chwaka
O único parque nacional de Zanzibar, lar do macaco colobus vermelho endémico e de florestas de mangue imaculadas.
The park contains several distinct ecosystems: groundwater forest fed by underground freshwater springs, mangrove forest along Chwaka Bay, coral rag forest on raised limestone, and salt marsh grasslands. The mangrove ecosystem serves as a vital nursery for marine life and protects the coastline from erosion. The forest features mahogany trees, palm species, figs, and various tropical hardwoods in the groundwater forest. The coral rag areas support drought-resistant species, while the mangrove zones contain several mangrove species adapted to tidal conditions.
